COLLAGE COLLAGE

TO REMIND YOU OF FUN TIMES YOU HAD STARING AT GORGEOUS CLOTHING AND PRETTY MODELS AND NOT THINKING ABOUT ANYTHING UPSETTING

The Collage Collection. These patterns were put together with collages I made out of magazines. Magazines I started collecting in the 80s.  Back when Paulina Porizkova ruled the roost. I have moved these magazines from house to house. Apartment to apartment. I can’t tell you how many times my dad has had to help load these into a Uhaul. And my husband is a saint because he has been totally fine with these fashion bibles. I finally decided it was time to share them with the world.

COLLAGE COLLAGE by Julie Mintz

Making flowers out of bodies, fallin apart
Coming together like pieces of a broken heart
Beauty’s a mirage you may never reach
Collage Collage
All their broken pieces
Collage Collage
Finally at peace now
Since she was a girl of 12 on her bike she rode
Into town to buy the newest edition of Vogue
Soaked in the pages of Cindy, Christy, Linda and Kate
Wanted a body like theirs, her prayers came too late
Collage Collage
All their broken pieces
Collage Collage
Finally at peace now
Closed for years those beauty books never lettin go
Shame she’d never show
Finally torn into tiny rainbows

AWB photographs fresh flowers with a wildly organic style.

From there, she transforms the final image into patterns, prints and limited-edition products.

“The floral prints are very personal. One person might buy Dutch Love because it reminds them of the first time they met their husband. Another might buy Rest because her late mother carried poppies in her bridal bouquet.”
